I keep forgetting to update.

I keep forgetting to update.

I keep forgetting to update! 🙂 This Wednesday was expensive! I had to replace my shoes (I got 5.10 Gambits, which hurt!) as I’d stripped a nice chunk a of rubber of my Mythos, my harness (just downgraded the size of my womens petzel harness from a L to an M) as my legs had slimmed to smaller that the loops would tighten AND I had to buy new chalk bag as I managed to leave mine somewhere in Birmingham….

Saturday Update

Saturday Update

Finally been able to go climbing at the weekend again. Was going to go out and climb on real rock with Jonny from work for the first time, but the weather was a bit rainy and windy! So, we went indoors instead. We were leading, I took the first climbs, starting on a 5+ which was pretty easy and then onto an absolute pig of a 6a+. I’m sure it’s harder than that… or perhaps I just can’t gauge lead…

I’m not quite the leader…

I’m not quite the leader…

Last few sessions have been surrounding working on leading. There were only 2 of us tonight so we had a good long session just working slowly up the grades to work out what we can do. Managed a couple of 5s, a 6a and a 6a+, all of which were within our abilities. After that we went on the really big wall and wore ourselves out. I'm tired now.

Shoulder Update.

Shoulder Update.

Well, on the advice of the Dr, I +did+ go climbing yesterday. It was hurting most of the day tbh, probably from the Dr manipulating it a lot, but I thought stuff it, I want to climb. Turns out that climb made it feel better! I'm aching generally today though as it was a hard one. So, what did I do: Did the Orange 6c. Worked on the really hard 6b+/c in the corner that has been troubling Jim and…

Long time no update.

Long time no update.

I've got a bit slack with this really. So, I've been climbing quite a bit, usually managing at least twice a week. I've also enlisted a bunch of friends to come with me. My level is about the same, able to do most 6b+s and one of the 6cs at my usual place. There is still 2 6b+s that are evading me but I haven't had much chance to take them on recently! I went to a new climbing centre…

YES!

YES!

6c! On my second go! The damn thing was a pinchy, slopey, balancy bugger but I managed it! (still didn't manage the 6b+ I've been working on though… *grumble*)

Been a while!

Been a while!

Was completely useless when I got back from holiday and went to my first climbing session for quite a while. I sucked. I guess I'd forgotten how to climb. So, next training session I was focusing just on trying to remember how to climb with my feet, which seems to have helped. Last 2 sessions were much better. I've done a couple of 6b+'s since. So, aim is a 6c by January….!

Updating from phone. Been arranging private lessons with Ben at the foundry. We did lots of leading work on 4/5 and 5+’s and my clipping is improving. I thing i may be able to lead a 6a. Maybe. Just got back from the climbing works. Did most of the green route which was fun. I think i’m going to ache tomorrow

Disaster!

Disaster!

Well, not quite. They’ve changed all the top roping routes! I’ll never get to finish that hard blue one! Never mind eh? Tonight was cool. Me and 2 others on a private lesson. We working through a bunch of top ropes, finishing on a 6b, which wasn’t too hard and them moved over to do some leading. I almost completed a 6a, but had to rest a bit 2 moves before the end. I think I might have completed it…

Back after a break.

Back after a break.

Not much posting after that big one back there. Basically, that 4 hours session at the bouldering wall did something a bit nasty to my right shoulder. Not exactly hurty, unless I tried to use a too much. I did a couple of sessions, not pushing it too hard, but that and the added problem of being out of town at random due to work meant I put climbing on hold for a couple of weeks. However, I’m back! 😀…
