Well, that was an unexpected PB! Sheffield Half Marathon 2019

Well, that was an unexpected PB! Sheffield Half Marathon 2019

I spent a bit of 2018 and early 2019 feeling a bit like my PBs were behind me. 2018 feels on reflection a little lack lustre compared with the avalanche of PBs I got in 2017 due to the training for the Amsterdam marathon. Since then, progress, and consistency was kinda sparse. My running picked up at the end of 2018 specifically just so I could hit the arbitrary km target I’d set, but I did manage to maintain that…

EMBRACE! Time for some Punishment.

EMBRACE! Time for some Punishment.

Hills Made Easy with Accelerate Part 2.

On Thursday we had the second session in our Hills Made Easy workshop with Accelerate. Both Liz and I were feeling a little under the weather; Liz having quite sore quads from running and climbing earlier in the week, and I was starting to come down with some sort of sore throat/coldy thing. Still, we soldiered on and were blessed with much nicer weather. There was a touch of wind, but once we were in the Rivelin valley and under the…

Hills Made Easy with Accelerate Part 1.

On Thursday evening I went on the first part of a workshop run by Accelerate called “Hills Made Easy”. Now, I’ve always enjoyed runs with decent hills in, and considered myself at least passable at getting up them, so I really had no idea whether this was going to be useful or not. The girlfriend on the other hand, doesn’t like hills at all, so was really interested in some coaching advice on how to deal with them, so I…
