Kinda failing at blogging recently. Here is a quite retrospective about stuff I’ve been up to this year.
After an injury flare up in November last year, the early parts of the year were about recovery mostly, meaning I missed out on the 2021 Percy Pud, The Inaugural Winter Round Sheffield Run and my targeted 10k PB race in Kew Gardens.
I did manage cobble some fitness together for the long postponed Langsett 10k, one of my favourite local races. Unfortunately I went out far to excitedly, and my legs just didn’t have the hills in them. Also, the route had changed which meant an extra little hill! No fair. Signed up again though for the next one….
My next targeted was the Edinburgh Half Marathon. Again, this was supposed to be for a PB attempt, but I was nowhere near back as fit as I was prior to the injuries, so it was just a fun run really! I had no idea how to run it, so coach gave me some cues to run it via HR instead which I tried to up to. In the end I was pretty happy with the result being a few minutes off PB. Quite surprised in fact.
Last run of note was the Round Sheffield Run, Summer edition this time. It was fun, nowhere near as quick as my PB, but I wasn’t expecting it to be!
